chic n dumps

its october n gettin nippy out so its soup season comfy food time 😁 n i need to get my chicken n dumplins blogged up so heres what we need

for the soup…

3 chicken breasts or 8 boneless skinless thighs

1.c water

6.c chicken stock

4 to 5 chicken boulion cubes or 2.ts chicken flavored better than boulion

1/2.tsp of onion powder, garlic powder, poultry seasoning, salt and black pepper

n for dumplins we need…

2.c all purpose flour

1/2.tsp baking powder

2 1/2.tbsps salted or unsalted butter

1.c milk or buttermilk

pinch of salt

k first off lets get our chicken pouched up n get on da soup so take all of the soup ingredients and put em in a pot n bring it to a boil then cut the heat off n cover pot n let rest for 20 min to pouch the chicken the remove the chicken n cut it up or shred it. up to u. n leave it out til after we cook da dumplins. n feel free to add onion, celery, carrots..ect. when u pouch the chicken i dont treat this like i would my chicken n noodle soup cuz i want da dumplins to shine lol but do u boo n also i dont add any thicking cuzz da dumplins will thickin this soup alot due to all the flour on em n will be closer to a gravy than soup

k now that the soups ready for da dumplins lets get on then rite quik. take your flour n put it in a big bowl n add yo butter n really stir in in guud with a pastery shifter or fork till its mixed then add the baking powder, salt then yo milk n combined til u get a nice dough ball n it should be a bit sticky but not to much

k then well drop it on a heavly floured surface n dust it guud wit flour n roll it out thin. like 1/4 inch thick or so then cut em into strips like fat noodles bout inch wide n 3inch long or so then coat both sides in flour so they dont stick to shit lol

now well bring our soup up to a boil and drop all them dumplins in n boil for 20 min uncovered stirring every 4 to 5 min or so to keep em loose

after 20 min turn down heat to low n add your chicken back in n simmer 10 min and your guud to go

i like to make the dumpings like this cuz they kinda look n feel like doodles but u can also just drop small spoonfulls of the dough n for drop dumplins n cover pot for first 10min of boiling less work too lol
